RAMBAN, Oct 28: A driver was killed when the truck he was driving rolled down into gorge near Peerah bridge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today.
As per police sources, a truck (tralla) bearing registration number RJ25GA-1506 loaded with containers was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge near Peerah bridge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of driver.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body of the deceased driver from the gorge.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary of District Hospital Ramban for autopsy.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Arif of Rajasthan.
A case under FIR Number 54/2020 under Section 279 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Chanderkote Police Station and investigation started.
