MENDHAR, Dec 14: A serious road accident took place in Mendhar area of Poonch district on Saturday morning, leaving the driver critically injured.
The police said incident took place near Darana village under the jurisdiction of Mendhar police station. The vehicle, an Eeco car bearing registration number JK12C- 0489, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
Local residents immediately rushed to the site and rescued the driver, identified as Jafri Ahmad, son of Mehboob Ahmad, a resident of Darana village. He was removed to the Sub-District Hospital, Mendhar.
According to Dr Javed, Medical Officer at the Mendhar hospital, the driver sustained severe injuries. After initial treatment, he was referred to the Medical College Rajouri. The police have registered a case for investigation.
