RAMBAN, May 13: A driver was injured, when the tanker he was driving plunged into gorge near Sherbibi area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, today morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AG-4987 was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar when the driver lost control over the tanker and it landed into deep gorge near Sherbibi, causing injuries to the driver.
After getting information, a team from Banihal police station rushed to the spot and with the help of locals rescued the injured driver.
The injured driver identified as Balwant Singh (24), son of Mangal Singh, a resident of Kalakote, District Rajouri was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where he was responding to the treatment, when reports last came in.
Banihal police has taken cognizance in this regard.
