AKHNOOR, July 21: The driver was killed after a tipper loaded with bricks fell into a nallah from the bridge near Rasalyaot between Sunderbani and Chowki Chora on Jammu-Poonch highway early today.
A police spokesman said that the incident took place at around 4 am today when the tripper No. JK-12/1807 loaded with bricks was on way to Poonch from Mishriwalla area near Jammu. As the vehicle reached on a bridge near Rasalyaot, the driver apparently took a nap and the vehicle rolled down into the nallah. The people came to know about the incident after 5.30 am. They informed Chowki Chora police under Akhnoor police jurisdiction. Traffic policemen from Sunderbani also reached there.
The deceased was later identified as Tariq Hussain, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Noora Mandi in Poonch. The body was shifted to Sunderbani hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the family which had reached there after coming to know about the mishap. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
