RAMBAN, Dec 19: Driver of a Trailer died on the spot after the vehicle he was driving plunged into a gorge in Peera area falling under Chanderkote, Police Station jurisdiction on Jammu Srinagar National Highway last night.
Police sources said the Trailer bearing registration number HR08AC-2720 while on its way to Srinagar from Udhampur went out of control of the driver and rolled down from the road resulting in death of the driver.
Police identified the deceased driver as Navneet Singh (35) son of Gian Singh resident of Bathinda Punjab.
SHO, Police Station Chanderkote, Inspector P.D Singh said after conducting post-mortem and completing other legal formalities, dead body of the driver was handed over to his legal heirs.
He further said that a case under relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Chanderkote in this regard.
