UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: Driver of a truck died and his assistant got critically injured when the vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge near Thard, here today in the wee hours.
The truck bearing registration number PB35Q-6435, was on way from Jammu to Kashmir when it met with the accident near Thard, about 10 km from Udhampur town.
Police and locals took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors declared one of them as brought dead. The deceased was driver of the truck and his identity was established as Sarabjit Singh (55) son of Raghubir Singh of Rimal Battala Gurdaspur (Punjab). The injured was identified as Jasbinder Singh (35) son of Puran Singh of Pathankot.
