Driver, shopkeeper arrested for selling, purchasing iron rods illegally

JAMMU, May 19: Jhajjar Kotli Police today arrested a truck driver and a shopkeeper for selling and purchasing iron rods illegally.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli caught a truck driver and a shopkeeper red-handed while selling and purchasing iron rods illegally at a shop in Domail.
The arrested persons were identified as Purab Chand (driver), son of Rattan Chand of Pachote Chenani District Udhampur and Mohammad Sageer (shopkeeper), son of Mohammad Ayub of Palli Tehsil Dansal District Jammu. The truck in which these iron rods were loaded has been seized.
The driver was assigned to deliver the iron rods from New Jammu and Kashmir Rolling Mills Gangyal Jammu to Sanjeev Welding Works in Ramnagar but he was illegally selling the same to Mohammad Sageer.
On the complaint of owner of New Jammu and Kashmir Rolling Mills Gangyal Jammu regarding theft of iron rods, a case under FIR Number 114/2022 under Sections 379 and 411 IPC has been registered against the arrested persons at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
