Driving on Jammu roads !

Sir,
The article by Sh Ravi Kant dated  February 2 , 2018 is just hilarious and brings one a smile which is otherwise a rarity when you pick up a newspaper to pass some time . The much publicised traffic week has just gone and was celebrated with much fanfare ! Not withstanding the slogans , banners and seminars nothing seems to happen on ground . After all who is to blame for the chaos we see every time on the road . Is it the Traffic Department ? Perhaps they are to be blamed for we see gross violations happening just in front of them and they remain mute spectators. And in this gross violation  , painfully, the Government vehicles are at number one slot .  The author has described the traffic scene as if he is giving a running commentary of a T 20 match . The only miss is  the chaos on roads seen during marriage season . After all when will the realisation come on us that jumping the queue or overtaking in city roads will only add to jams, jams and jams .  We have to realise that our city roads are meant for one lane or at the most two lane driving . Therefore, all of us collectively have to understand this reality and act . This is not a favour we shall be doing to any one else but ourselves. Unfortunately , the cardinal principle of driving i. e.  “Give Way ” is being followed when there is  ” No Way ” to give  and the over enthusiast is in unknown  hurry to  make all hazardous moves just to show his skills at great peril to life and property. When shall we learn to drive in a queue, be cool behind wheels and allow smooth flow of traffic without unnecessary honking of horns (which is another menace of traffic violations ) . The traffic department has a role but we as responsible citizens have equal part to play.
Yours etc….
