Drop Agniveer Scheme, restore Old Pension Scheme: Ravinder

JAMMU, Jan 25: As a part of outreach campaign of the party, the AICC Coordinator for Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency and senior vice president of the JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma (Ex-MLC) visited Hiranagar and different parts in Kathua district and asked party cadres to strengthen grass root units, especially booth and block level of the party in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections.
Sharma interacted with senior leaders, DCC and Block presidents and frontal wings leaders and also met ailing Congress leader and Ex- MLA Girdhari Lal Chalotra at his residence in Hiranagar . A number of SC, ST and OBC and Kissan besides ex-servicemen leaders also met Sharma and shared their views and hardships.
Ex- servicemen representatives strongly opposed the Agniveer Scheme and demanded regular recruitment to the Army. Trade Union leaders demanded Old Pension Scheme for employees besides to the old age, handicapped and widows. Kissan leaders raised the issue of exorbitant taxation of 28 percent (GST) on Agriculture tractors and other appliances by BJP.
Sharma advised senior leaders and prominent workers to volunteer themselves for their respective booth levels duties to convey a stong message to grass roots workers. He said BJP should clear it’s stand on restoration of statehood, protection of land, jobs and natural resources of J&K besides non holding of Assembly elections.
He was accompanied by several senior leaders including PCC general secretary Incharge Kathua district Shashi Sharma, District president Pankaj Dogra, PCC general secretary Naresh Sharma Ex- Chairman MC Kathua, PYC president Akash Bharat, Kulbhushan Kumar Ex- Chairman Nagri, Nirdosh Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, Parmjit Singh, Ravinder Singh Neta, Pawan Sharma, Sat Pal Bhandari, Narinder Khajuria, Rakesh Sharma, Romesh Kundal, Yog Raj and others.
