Drowned boy’s body retrieved

Srinagar, Apr 24: The body of the drowned boy was retrieved from the river Jehlum at Palhallan in Pattan, while the unknown body that was fished out in Gantmulla has been identified.
A police spokesman said the body of Adnan Ali, 7, son of Ali Mohammad Pandith of Tarkulbal, Pattan, who drowned in river Jehlum last week has been retrieved at Ghat Palhallan.
Meanwhile, the unknown male body that was fished out from river Jehlum near Gantmulla, Sheeri, on Tuesday has been identified as constable Mohammad Hamza son of Mohammad Subhan of Balkote, Uri.
Police has started investigations to ascertain the cause of the death under Section 174 CrP C, the spokesman said.
