Drowned student’s body fished out

JAMMU, May 6: The body of the student of School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi who drowned in river Tawi while taking bath was fished out today.
As per police sources, on May 4, eight students of School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi after paying obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine at Katra were taking bath in the river Tawi at Hari-ki-Pauri, Bagh-e-Bahu when two students drowned and six others were rescued.
The body of one of the drowned students namely Amit Tiwari, a resident of Varanasi was retrieved, while the body of the second student identified as Rakesh Jahangir (19), a resident of Rajasthan was fished out today.
The body was fished out by SDRF rescue team led by PSI Chetan Charak under the supervision of Stenzin Narboo, SP Commandant, 2nd Battalion, SDRF. CD volunteers also assisted in the rescue operation.
