Drug peddler arrested with 1.50 kgs cannabis

JAMMU, Oct 27: Narwal Police along with sleuths of Special Operation Group (SOG) Jammu under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler along with 1.50 kilograms of cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Narwal Police Post accompanied by the sleuths of SOG Jammu laid a naka at Rajeev Nagar and intercepted a Tavera car bearing registration number JK03C-3145.
During checking, police recovered 1.50 kilograms of cannabis from the vehicle and arrested the driver.
The arrested person has been identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Situ Ram of Dhanu Chak Jorarian Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 217/18 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started.
The arrest has been made by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Varuneshwar Singh under the supervision of SHO Police Station Bahu Fort Inspector Parvaiz Sajjad, SDPO East Vipan Chandran, SP South Vinay Sharma, SP Operations Sandeep Mehta and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
