UDHAMPUR, July 19: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, Police Station Udhampur today apprehended a drug peddler and seized 10 kg of poppy straw.
The consignment was being smuggled in a truck (JK02AJ-2739), which was intercepted by a Police team, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspr Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of Anwaar-ul-Haq, Addl SP Udhampur and Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, during a naka at Jakhani Chowk.
The narcotic smuggler namely Parshotam Kumar , son of Krishan Lal of Phalata, Udhampur was arrested on the spot and poppy straw was seized.
Police also seized the truck and registered case FIR number 265/2021, under section 8/15 NDPS Act at PS Udhampur.
