KATRA, Mar 28: Continuing the drive against drug abuse, a patrolling party of Police Station Katra today arrested a drug peddler at circular road and seized 7 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
The arrested accused was identified as Kasturi Lal, son of Madan Lal of Matyal, Katra. Police have registered a case FIR number 86/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act and initiated investigations to unearth the forward and backward linkages.
The Police team, which apprehended the drug peddler, was led by SHO Katra Khyatiman Khajuria, under the supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
Meanwhile, Police Station Katra apprehended an unruly person who was allegedly creating panic and threatening people with a sharp edged weapon in Matyal area.
The accused, identified as Vikas Sharma alias Viku Matrian, son of Late Bodh Raj Sharma of Matyal, was allegedly seen wandering around the Matyal locality, armed with a sharp edged weapon (Toka) and threatening people in the area. A case FIR under section 4/25 Arms Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
