Drug peddler arrested, bovine smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, May 3: Gharota Police arrested a drug peddler and also foiled bovine smuggling bid.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Gharota led by SHO Inspector Khyati Maan Khajuria laid a naka and intercepted a scooty.
During checking, police team recovered 3 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Ghar Singh, son of Rattan Lal of Thati Gharota District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 34/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act and 188 IPC has been at Police Station Gharota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, the same police team laid a naka and signalled a car at village Dhannu. During checking, police team rescued a bovine animal from the vehicle, while the accused managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 33/2021 under Section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Gharota and investigation initiated.
