Drug peddler arrested with heroin

JAMMU, June 11: Police arrested a drug peddler along with 5 grams heroin under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ from Dashmesh Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Satwari police station laid a naka at Dashmesh Nagar and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 5 grams heroin from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Romesh Kumar, son of Bhajan Lal, a resident of Chak Bala, tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 108/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
