SAMBA, Sept 14: Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 500 grams of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, a police party from Police Station Samba during checking intercepted a person near Nud.
During frisking, police recovered 500 grams of poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Romesh Chander, son of Chajju Ram, a resident of Samlah, District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 243/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Samba Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Samba Inspector Chanchal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Deepak Digra and SSP Samba Dr Koshal Sharma.
