KATRA, June 23: In continuation to the drive against drug abuse in the holy town Katra, Police arrested a drug peddler from Counter No 2 Katra, near Shakuntla Hotel and seized 1.25 kg poppy straw from his possession.
The accused, identified as Om Parkash, son of Prem Nath of Ward number 04 of Katra, was selling the poppy straw to some persons in the holly town .
A case FIR number 99/2020, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra . The arrest and recovery were made by the team comprising of SHO PS Katra, Inspr Sunil Sharma, assisted by Inspr Varinder Singh, I/C PP Banganga and SI Suman Singh I/C TAG Katra, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh and SP Katra Amit Bhasin.
