Drug peddler arrested from Rly Station, Correx bottles seized

JAMMU, Aug 21: Railway Police today arrested a drug peddler and seized a number of banned Correx bottles from his possession.
The accused, identified as Mohd Alkaz of Dungaro, Billawar, was arrested when he de-boarded Hemkund Express at Platform Number 1 of Jammu Railway Station. He was carrying a saffron colour bag containing 90 bottles of 100/100 ML of banned Correx.
All the contraband items were seized on the spot and the accused was arrested in case FIR Number 13/2014 under Section 8/21, 22 NDPS ACT, registered in Police Station GRP Jammu.
The GRP team was headed by ASI Vijay Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Chanderjeet Singh and SSP Railways Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Meanwhile, the Railway Police succeeded to recover a minor girl from Utter Pradesh, who was reportedly missing from the Jammu Railway Station on August 17. She was recovered from the house of Tehsildar Kamal Preet Sharma, who had given shelter to the girl on humanitarian ground after finding her alone on the road in Trikuta Nagar area.
Police handed over the girl to her father after proper verification.
