RAMBAN, Sept 7: Banihal Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 192 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Banihal led by ASI Mohd Sharief laid a naka and intercepted a Mahindra Bolero pick up bearing registration number UP12BT-4206.
During checking, police team recovered 192 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Hashin, son of Nafees of Village Baghra Muzaffar Nagar Uttar Pradesh.
A case under FIR Number 201/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and the investigation is set into motion.
The arrest and recovery were made under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani, SDPO Banihal Nisar Ahmed Khoja and SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
