Drug peddler arrested with 8.900 kg cannabis

KISHTWAR, Feb 26: Chatroo Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered 8.900 kilograms cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on a specific information a naka was established at Parna Chingam area of by SHO Chatroo Inspector Parvaiz Khanday under the supervision of DySP DAR Kishtwar Zia-Ul-Haq.
While checking of pedestrian & vehicles, police team intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 8.900 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Abdul Latief, son of Mohammad Ramzan of Parna Chigam District Kishtwar.
A case under FIR Number 18/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation taken up.
