SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Police today arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered charas from his possession.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, authorities said that a police party led by SHO PS Safapora under the supervision of DySP Hqr’s Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Asham-Safapora crossing intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04A-8598, ridden by one person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
“During search, officers were able to recover contraband substance (Charas) from his possession. He has been identified as Yasir Hassan Parray son of Gh Hassan Parray resident of Parray Mohalla Asham Bandipora. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody. a motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, as per police, a case vide FIR No. 38/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Safapora & investigation has been taken up.
