SRINAGAR, July 20: Police today arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police Party of Police Station Pampore at a checkpoint established at Konibal crossing intercepted a person who was moving in suspicious condition.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 500 grams of Charas-like substance from his possession,” police said.
As per police, he has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday son of Gh Mohd Khanday resident of Mandakpal.
“He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody.”
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 92/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore and an investigation has been initiated.
