Drug peddler arrested with heroin

DODA, Mar 12: Police arrested a drug peddler along with 550 grams heroin worth over Rs 2.50 crore in the international market.
As per police sources, based on a tip-off, a team from Doda police station laid a check-post at village Bidwan Parvati Dhara and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the person escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, cops chased and nabbed the person.
During checking, police recovered 550 grams heroin sealed in a leather bag with “Made in Afghanistan” stamp worth around Rs 2.5 crore in the international market and arrested the person.
The accused has been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone of Tantna, district Doda.
He was trying to carry the consignment to his native village for selling among the youths to make them drug addicts, but police foiled his nefarious designs.
A case under FIR Number 37/16 under Section 8/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Police Station Doda and further investigation of case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Doda police station Inspector Udhay Shanker made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda and SSP Doda ZN Manhas.
