JAMMU, Mar 18: Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 50 grams heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, the sleuths of District Special Branch and cops from Sarwal Police Post led by ASI Manohar Lal laid a naka near Rehari and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, the cops recovered 50 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Bashir Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Khaliq, a resident of District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 46/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
