JAMMU, Mar 16: Digiana Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Digiana led by SI Tarseem Raj laid a naka and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BT-8415.
During checking, police team recovered around 3 grams of heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Manjot Singh, son of Manmeet Singh, a resident of Chak Mohammad Yar, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 61/2022 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
The arrest and recovery of consignment were made under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma, SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma.
