JAMMU, June 19: Miran Sahib Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered nearly seven grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib, led by Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq laid a nakka at Simbal Morh for checking of vehicles and pedestrians.
During checking, one person coming from Miran Sahib towards Basti Govindpura Simbal Morh stopped at naka point on suspicious ground. On seeing cops, the said person tried to escape from the naka but Police apprehended him and recovered seven grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
The arrested person was identified as Vishal Sharma, son of Vinod Sharma, resident of Basti Govindpura Simbal Morh. A case under FIR No. 61/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered and further investigation started.
