SAMBA, Mar 1: Continuing its drive against the drug menace in the area, district police Samba has arrested one drug peddler in the jurisdiction of P/S Bari Brahmana and recovered 10 grams of heroin (Chitta) and Rs 50,000 from his possession.
A police party of P/S Bari Brahmana while performing patrolling duty in TelliBasti, Bari Brahmana area intercepted a pedestrian who was moving under suspicious circumstances. During frisking of said person 10 gms of heroine (Chitta) and Rs 50,000 were recovered from his possession.
The accused was identified as Rameez Raja, S/o Mohd Ashraf Mir, R/o Heri, Tehsil Trehgam and district Kupwara. He has been arrested on the spot and contraband item and cash was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 43/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
