JAMMU, July 19: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka near Suketar and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 2.100 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohd Ashraf Bokad, son of Juma Bokad of District Anantnag.
A case FIR Number 181/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
