RAMBAN, Sept 4: Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Ramban led by ASI Ramesh Kumar while checking intercepted a hero deluxe motorcycle bearing registration number PB20C-2415.
During checking, police team recovered 16 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Balkar Singh, son of Raj Jaspal Singh of Ward Number 12, Balachaur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab.
A case FIR Number 306/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
The arrest and recovery were made under the supervision of SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak, DySP Headquarters Pardeep Singh Sen and SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
