JAMMU, Oct 1: Nagrota Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted one Innova car bearing registration number JK02AD-0304 which was on its way from Udhampur towards Jammu.
During checking, police team recovered 3.500 kilograms poppy straw from the car and arrested the driver, who was identified as Shokat Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed of Kanger Tehsil Kot Bhalwal District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 351/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
