JAMMU, Apr 7: Kanachack Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal laid a naka at Deharan and intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02L-0493.
During checking, police team recovered 1.700 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Joginder Singh, son of Balwant Singh of Simbliwala.
A case under FIR Number 46/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation initiated.
The arrest and recovery took place under the guidance of SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
