RAJOURI, Dec 16: District Police Rajouri has booked a notorious peddler under relevant sections of law.
The accused identified as Mukesh Kumar alias Billu, son of Raj Kumar, resident of village Bagnoti, tehsil Nowshera, was detained under “The Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act” and lodged in District Jail Dhangri (Rajouri) under the orders of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
“He was involved in drug peddling and criminal cases registered at different police stations over the past couple of years and used to manage bail from the Court of Law. He was repeatedly found engaged in anti-social activities and is a habitual drug smuggler and supplier and posed serious threat to safety, security of lives and property of citizens particular young generation from menace of drug in Siot-Lamberi-Nowshera axis and other parts of the District,” a police spokesman said.
The warrant of detention was executed by SHO of Polcie Station Nowshera and concerned beat officials.
