POONCH, Aug 6: Police in Mendhar today booked a drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act.
The drug peddler identified as Mohd Mushtaq son of Khan Mohammad, resident of Deri Debsi (at present Ucchad, Mankote Mendhar) was booked by the Police after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
“It is pertinent to mention that the accused person was involved in many NDPS cases. Despite their involvement in many FIRs, the accused were promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth in Mendhar and its adjoining areas. Subsequently, the cases were duly processed and after obtaining sanctions from the competent authority, the arrested drug peddler was detained under PIT NDPS act,” a police spokesman said.
The drug peddler’s case was investigated under the supervision of SSP Poonch Vinay Sharma.
