Srinagar, Oct 22: Police in Budgam today booked a notorious drug peddler under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
According to the police, the notorious drug peddler has been identified as Gh. Nabi Ganaie, also known as Sher Puj, the son of Gh. Mohd Ganaie and a resident of Chadoora.
He has been detained and subsequently lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, police said.
The police stated that there were already multiple cases registered against him in various police stations. noting that he was promoting drug addiction by supplying drugs to the local youth of District Budgam.
“Despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not cease his illegal activities and was once again caught promoting the drug trade by supplying drugs to the local youth,” the police said.
