JAMMU, Mar 5: Railway Police Jammu today claimed to have slapped PIT NDPS Act against a notorious drug peddler of Rajasthan presently putting up at Rajeev Nagar area here.
Vishal Kumar of Rajasthan at present Ward number 80, Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Bahu Fort, who had been facing several FIRs registered at different police stations of district Jammu, Gurdaspur and GRP Jammu, has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act today, a GRP official said.
“The accused is a notorious drug peddler having links in different places in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jammu,” he said, adding, “He was still selling drugs among the innocent people in these areas.”
A warrant of arrest under the PIT NDPS Act 1988 was issued against the accused by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, he said.
According to him, the warrant got executed today with the arrest of the accused, who has been lodged in District Jail Rajouri.
