Drug peddler booked under PITNDPS Act

KATHUA, Dec 3: District Police Kathua has arrested a drug peddler under PITNDPS Act here, today.
Police said the arrest was made under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal by a police team led by Inspector, Tariq Ahmed SHO Police Station (PS), Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Dheeraj Singh Katoch. The arrested drug peddler namely Rashid Ali, son of Babi Din of Mukandpur tehsil, Marheen and district Kathua is a habitual drug peddler involved in possession and transportation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in different NDPS cases at PS Rajbagh.
A detention warrant under prevention of Illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances PIT-NDPS Act- 1988 was issued against him by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu vide Order No.50 of 2023 dated 12/10/2023.
In order to prevent the illegal activities in drug trafficking in the district, “Dossier” was prepared against the accused person and sent to the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu for his detention under PITNDPS Act-1988 (PSA).
Accordingly Divisional Commissioner, Jammu issued a detention warrant against the accused person under the PITNDPS Act. The warrant was executed and he has been lodged in District Jail, Kathua to curtail his activities in drug peddling so that the future of the youth of the district could be saved from the clutches of drug peddlers.
