JAMMU, May 12: A drug peddler was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) by police in Gandhi Nagar area here today.
A police official said that Sonu also known as Ranjha, a resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, was wanted under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978, as per a warrant issued by the District Magistrate, Jammu.
He said the accused was involved in several criminal activities, including cases registered under various sections of IPC, Arms Act, and the NDPS Act.
Today, the arrest warrant of the criminal was executed by a team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar and the criminal lodged in the Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, he said.
“The apprehension of the criminal is a major relief for the people of Valmiki Colony,” he said.
