Srinagar, June 12:Police in Budgam today said to have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Khansahib at a checkpoint established at Nambalhar intercepted a suspicious person identified as Showkat Ahmed Bandroo, son of Abdul Ahad Bandroo, resident of Banderpora presently residing at Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 800 gms of Cannabis powder and 120 banned tablets from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 119/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police station Khansahib and investigation has been taken up.
