Srinagar, June 24: Police today said to have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Mirbazar Chowk intercepted a person identified as Mohammad Ishaq Shan son of Mohammad Maqbool resident of Nowpora Akhran.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 10.2 Kg of Poppy Straw and 98 Spasmoproxyvon capsules from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 152/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and an investigation has been taken up.
