Drug peddler held by Gandhi Nagar police

JAMMU, July 20: Police today arrested a drug peddler along with large quantity of intoxicants from his possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Gandhi Nagar Police Station headed by PSI Deepak Thakur under the supervision of SHO Rajinder Sharma intercepted a pedestrian moving suspiciously.
During checking, police recovered 2500 intoxicants and arrested the drug peddler, who has been identified as Anil Kumar alias Nandi, son of Amar Nath of Kanji House.
A case under FIR number 174/13 under Sections 8/21/22 under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started. It is pertinent to mention here that SSP Jammu, Atul Goel and SP South Rajeshwar Singh have issued directions for  tightening noose around the drug peddlers.
