RAJOURI, June 8: The police nabbed a drug- peddler from Thannamandi area of district Rajouri and recovered some intoxicants from his possession.
An official spokesman said that a police party headed by ASI Altaf Hussain of Thannamandi under the supervision of SHO Thanamandi, Nazir Ahmad Dar and SDPO Iftikhar Choudhary during naka at Khablan on Thannamandi Road, saw a boy who soon after seeing the cops, tried to escape from the spot under suspicious circumstances.
The policemen chased and nabbed him. During his frisking 680 capsules of PROXIVON and eight strips of NITRAVET-10 tablets (each strip contains 15 tablets) were recovered from his possession. He was identified as Jahangeer Iqbal, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Ward No 10, Old Thanamandi. The accused was arrested and a case FIR No. 89/ 2018 was registered against him.
