Srinagar, Aug 8: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and recovered Psychotropic substances from his possession.
A police party of PP Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Wadwan Budgam intercepted a vehicle (Chevrolet Spark) bearing registration number JK01L-4385 driven by a person identified as Syed Irfan-ul-Haq son of Late Zia-ud-Din resident of Tengbagh Khayam Srinagar.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 103 bottles of codeine phosphate from the said vehicle. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 244/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station, Budgam and an investigation has been taken up.
