JAMMU, July 15: A drug peddler was arrested with 2500 psychotropic capsules from Akhnoor area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal assisted by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq laid a special naka near Old Bridge Akhnoor, where a suspect was intercepted for checking.
During search of the suspect later identified as Manga Ram alias Manga of Jogwan, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu, at present Ward number 13, Akhnoor, Sungal, 2500 psychotropic capsules i.e. 1990 Proxywel Spas and 510 Tramwel (Tramadol) capsules, were recovered.
The accused has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 198/2023 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
