JAMMU, Oct 29: Continuing its drive against the drug smugglers, district police Samba has arrested one drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Bari Brahmana and recovered three kgs of poppy straw from him.
A police party of Police Station, Bari Brahmana headed by SHO, Inspector, Rajesh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Kesar while performing patrolling duty in Tikri Morh, Birpur intercepted a person on suspicious ground who tried to run on seeing police party. But alert cops swiftly apprehended him and during his frisking three kgs of poppy straw was recovered from his possession.
The accused person was identified as Mohd Kramat Ali, S/o Asgar Ali, R/o Khara Madana, Bari Brahmana has been arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 186/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
