Srinagar, July 31: Police today said to have arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered a huge quantity of a contraband substance from his possession.
Police Station Mattan received specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Manzoor Ahmad Yatoo son of Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo resident of Mattipora Nanil has indulged in the peddling of narcotic substances and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substances in his residential house.
On receipt of this information, a team comprising of DySP Hqrs Anantnag, SHO Mattan and Executive Magistrate raided the specific house and recovered 45 Kgs of Poppy Straw from the said house.
“The accused person has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.79/2021under relevant sections of law stand registered in Police Station Mattan and further investigation is in progress.
