Drug peddler held with 48 codeine bottles

Srinagar, July 14: Police today said to have arrested a drug peddler in Srinagar and recovered Psychotropic substances from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Batamaloo at a checkpoint established near Tengpora Chowk intercepted a vehicle (Grand i-10) bearing registration number HR13H 5271 driven by one person identified as Nisar Hussain Reshi son of Ali Mohd Reshi resident of Hanjiwera Pattan.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 48 bottles of Codeine phosphate from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 109/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Batamaloo and investigation has been initiated.
