JAMMU, Aug 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in RS Pura area claimed today they have arrested a drug peddler with 8.5 grams of heroin-like-substance.
A police official said that a team of RS Pura Police Station led by SHO concerned established a naka at Kotli Gala Bana, near Brick Kiln, and rounded up a suspected person, later identified as Kamaljeet Singh alias Abhi of Old Agra Chak, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
During search of the suspected individual, he said, 8.5 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR number 185/2014 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station RS Pura and the accused arrested, he said.
According to him, the father of the accused person is also a history-sheeter, who was involved in different cases of heinous nature of crimes registered at RS Pura.
