JAMMU, Jan 7: Janipur police today arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered approximately 490 grams of charas like substance from his possession.
“Today at Naka point Roop Nagar, a police party of police station Janipur stopped a person namely Ajay Kumar son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Paloura, on suspicion and on checking recovered about 490 g of charas like substance covered with maize husk from his possession,” a police spokesman said.
He said that the accused was arrested on the spot and charas recovered from him seized. “The accused man was earlier also apprehended by Janipur police,” he said, adding, a case FIR Number 05 of 2020 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at police station Janipur and investigation started.
The arrest and seizure was made by a police team headed by SHO police station Janipur, Inspector Naresh Sharma under the overall supervision of SDPO West, Amit Sharma.
