Drug peddler held with heroin

JAMMU, Dec 3: Janipur police today arrested a drug peddler with 14 grams of heroin from Roop Nagar area.
“During naka checking, a team of police station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali rounded up a suspect on a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CT-4011 which was going from Roop Nagar towards Janipur as he turned suspicious on seeing police naka,” a police spokesperson said.
He said on search, 14 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the suspect, who was later identified as Bikram Singh (30) son of late Uttam Singh, resident of Borhi (Anand Nagar).
“In this connection, a case FIR number 125/2021 u/s 8/21/22/NDPS Act was registered at police station Janipur and the accused was arrested,” the spokesperson said, adding, also a challan has been produced in the Principal Session Court against the accused in a case FIR number 88/2014 u/s 302/120B of police station Channi Himmat.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SDPO City West Rahul Nagar. Further investigation of the case was going on.
